East-Coast indie rockers, The Walkmen, shake up the Downtown Arts District in Norman as they make their first appearance at the fourth annual Norman Music Festival (NMF).

The Walkmen, originally from Washington D.C., will belt their vintage vibes for concertgoers on Saturday, April 30, along with Peelander-Z, who bill themselves as a "Japanese Action Comic Punk band.” Peelander-Z has also performed with NMF alums Octopus Project and Electric Six.

“The free indie music festival will feature more than a dozen national and international acts,” says Robert Ruiz, NMF chair. “With the showcase of local bands we will have approximately 200 total music acts performing at the festival.”

The fourth annual Norman Music Festival is set for Thursday through Saturday, April 28th-30th in Norman, Okla.

Previous headliners include Dirty Projectors, Of Montreal, Leon Russell, Electric Six, The Sword, The Polyphonic Spree and Chainsaw Kittens.  Additional bands performing at the fourth annual festival will be announced at a later date.

The festival will take place on the 100, 200 and 300 blocks of the historic Downtown Arts District of Norman, located on Main Street east of the railroad tracks. Once again, the festival is free and open to the public.
